Oakton pH 510 Benchtop Meter Kit Review

Oakton pH 510 Benchtop Meter Kit Feature

  • Three-point, push-button calibration with auto-buffer recognition for fast response and resolution across a wide range of results
  • Selectable manual or Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) for accuracy
  • Kit with built-in electrode holder arm, probe and electrode for ease of use
  • Memory stores up to 50 pH, mV or relative mV readings with corresponding temperature
  • Dual-line display of pH (or mV) and temperature in C degrees for ease of viewing

The Oakton 35619-10 pH 510 is a benchtop meter with kit that has a built-in electrode stand and comes with double-junction pH electrode and separate temperature probe. The benchtop meter is commonly used to measure pH, temperature, and mV of a substance in pure and sea water testing and treatment, environmental monitoring, and in educational, laboratory and industrial applications.

This meter features Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), three-point, push-button calibration with auto-buffer recognition of US and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) values, for fast response and resolution across a wide range of results. The meter has a dual-line, simultaneous display of pH or mV, and temperature readings in degrees C for ease of viewing, and a water-resistant keypad membrane for security. Built-in, nonvolatile memory stores up to 50 pH, mV or relative mV readings with corresponding temperature for ease of reference. It has a hold function for ease of recording readings, and a ready function to indicate when calibration is due, as well as diagnostic error messages to prompt the user. A slide-out instruction card stores under the meter as a quick-reference guide, and the meter has analog reader output to create hard copies of readings.

The 35619-10 pH 510 meter has an operating temperature of 0 to 100 degrees C, resolution 0.1 degree C, accuracy + or - 0.3 degrees C, and temperature calibration offset 0.1 degree increments up to + or - 5% degrees C. pH range 0.00 to 14.00, resolution 0.01, accuracy + or - 0.01. pH calibration up to 3 points at US 4.01, 7.00, 10.01, or NIST 4.01, 6.86, 9.18 buffer sets. mV range -1999 to + 1999, resolution 0.1 from + or - 199.9; 1 mV beyond + or - 199.9, accuracy + or - 0.2 from + or - 199.9; + or - 2 mv beyond + or - 199.9. The meter’s dimensions are 9.0 (w) x 7.0 (d) x 2.4 (h) inches, and it weighs 1.25 lbs. It comes with an electrode holder, probe (35613-05) and electrode (35805-04) and works with 9VDC, 500mA using an AC adaptor (included) 110 VAC.

pH testers measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance, and are commonly used by educators, researchers, manufacturers and hobbyists in aquaculture, agriculture, hydroponics and water-testing and for scientific applications.

Oakton Instruments manufactures an array of scientific instruments for research, industrial, and educational uses. Since 1991, Oakton has distributed a wide variety of instruments such as meters, electrodes, and transmitters. Oakton is based in Vernon Hills, IL, and has facilities in Europe, Asia, and China.
