Hanna Instruments HI 3220-01 Benchtop pH/mV and Temperature Meter Review

Hanna Instruments HI 3220-01 Benchtop pH/mV and Temperature Meter Feature

  • Five-point calibration with five custom and seven standard buffers, for ease of use
  • On-screen calibration guide to follow
  • Can store up to 400 samples until dowloaded
  • USB for downloading data to Windows
  • Cal-Check function to help prevent erroneous readings

The HI 3220-01 is a micro-processor-based pH, mV, and temperature bench meter.

The meter features a large LCD screen, automatic temperature compensation (ATC) or manual compensation, an outside of calibration range warning, and the Hanna Cal-Check function to assure the device is properly calibrated. Calibration is five-point, with five custom and seven standard buffers (1.68, 4.01, 6.86, 7.01, 9.18, 10.01, 12.45) and an on-screen step-by-step calibration tutorial.

pH range is -2.0 to 20.0; -2.00 to 20.00; -2.000 to 20.000 pH (+ or - 0.01 pH; 0.002 pH) with resolution 0.1; 0.01; 0.001 pH. Temperature range is – 20.0 to 120.0 degrees C + or - 0.4 degrees C with a resolution of 0.1 degrees C. ORP range is + or - 2000 with accuracy + or - 0.2 mV, and resolution 0.1 mV. Power supply is a 12 VDC adapter and input impedance is 1E12 Ohm. Dimensions are 235 x 207 x 110 mm (9.2 x 8.14 x 4.33") with weight 1.8 kg (4.1 lbs.).

pH testers measure the acidity or alkalinity of a substance and are commonly used by researchers, manufacturers, and hobbyists.

Hanna Instruments manufactures a wide variety of analytical instrumentation, including pH meters, multi-parameter meters, electrodes, chemical reagents and buffer solutions. Founded in 1978, Hanna is headquartered in Woonsocket, RI, with subsidiaries in 32 countries. Hanna Instruments holds many firsts in the field of analytical instrumentation, including the world’s first pH electrode with a built in temperature sensor, electronic pocket-sized pH tester, and replaceable electrode pH pocket tester. To assure the quality of its products, Hanna is a vertically integrated manufacturer and does not subcontract any part of its manufacturing.
